Scored by legendary Italian film composer Armando Sciascia, Sea Fantasy is a conceptual suite of twelve exotic themes evoking the moods and drama of life under the sea. Recorded in 1972 for Sciascia’s own Vedette Imprint, Sea Fantasy is a key recording within the micro-genre of Italian underwater library music. A perfect balance between the tropical lyricism of Daniele Patucchi’s soundtrack Men Of The Sea (CAM) and the experimental sub aquatic electronics of Biologia Marina by Amedeo Tommasi/Alessandro Alessandroni (Rhombus). With some of the cues used for the soundtrack to the 1976 mondo documentary Mysteries Of The Gods, Sea Fantasy is also reminiscent of the mysterious mood music scored for Folco Quilici’s exotic documentary Oceano as well as Luigi Scattina’s sexploitation film Il Corpo. Re-released for the first time on the new imprint Pheon Records, a new collaboration between Trunk Records & The Roundtable.
