This release of ALLONSANFAN by the two-time Oscar winner Ennio Morricone inaugurates a new series of GDM titles distributed exclusively by Beat Records. Ennio Morricone has only twice collaborated with the Taviani brothers, first for ALLONSANFAN in 1974 and then in 1979 for IL PRATO. For ALLONSANFAN, the Maestro composed the rhythmic “Rabbia e Tarantella” to represent the rebellious atmosphere that pervades the historical period in which the story is set and which reaches its climax in the final sequence. Incidentally, Quentin Tarantino used it in the finale of his film Inglourious Basterds (2009). Alternating with this frantic march is “Ritorno a casa,” a lyrical theme for flute and orchestra that arouses pure emotion in the listener. The festive rhyme “Dirindindin,” performed by the choir, contrasts with the classical magic of”Frammenti di sonata,” featuring a violin solo by Giorgio Moench. The darker side of the story is emphasized by the foreboding “Tradimento.” For this release, we used all the material recorded in stereo during the original recording sessions.
